FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS

INTRODUCTION

The following work shows the obtained results of the static analysis of the High Efficiency tray (HE), truck dump body. It is calculated taking into account the contour conditions and the load of the dump body.

The calculations are obtained by means of software based on the method of Finite Elements. The method is based on the numeric analysis that allows to find approximate solutions to a wide variety of engineering problems. In a very special form, it allows to find solutions in those situations that the geometry and/or solicitations have complex forms. The calculations do not consider the material wear and the load impact.

The model in study was developed with the element finite denominated steel plate element, because the irregular forms that some components of the model possess, loads and nodal moments can also be entered, own weight, etc. The results obtained of this type of elements are: displacement, physical mechanical efforts according to the approach of Von Mises, nodal reactions, etc.
